‘There’s so much more to come!’ Nicole Kidman hints at plans to bring back Big Little Lies for a THIRD season
A show boss from HBO cast serious doubt that Big Little Lies would be returning for a third season after its finale airs this week.
But now lead Australian actress Nicole Kidman has hinted that the global TV sensation – which has won multiple awards – is in talks to be continued.
On the eve of the dramatic end of season two, Nicole told News Corp Australia: ‘You gotta see this finale… there’s so much more to come.’

The series stars a smorgasbord of Hollywood’s leading ladies, including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz and Shailene Woodley, and added Meryl Streep to the roster for the latest outing.
HBO’s network president Casey Bloys admitted that, due to the calibre of the in-demand A-list cast, securing another season would prove nigh on impossible.
However, Nicole appeared optimistic when she told the publication if the all-star ensemble agreed they would return to film a season three.
‘We would love to do a season three because there is certainly ideas, but we would not do it without all of the same people involved … even the kids.’

Bloys also told TV Line: ‘The reality is, they are some of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood. I just think it’s not realistic.’
‘I love this group of people – I would do anything with them. We have deals with some of them — Nicole is doing her next show [The Undoing] with us.
‘Look, if they all came to me and said, “We worked out all of our schedules!” – then sure. But I just don’t think it’s realistic.’

Busy: Kidman, meanwhile, stars in the aforementioned The Undoing, as well as movies The Goldfinch [pictured] and an untitled film about the various female Fox News personnel and their altercations with founder Roger Ailes
Indeed, Witherspoon is already involved in two new TV series [The Morning Show and Little Fires Everywhere] as well as Legally Blonde’s third film.
Kidman, meanwhile, stars in the aforementioned The Undoing, as well as movies The Goldfinch and an untitled film about the various female Fox News personnel and their altercations with founder Roger Ailes; while Dern features in three movies this year alone and is said to be reprising her role of Dr Ellie Sattler in the upcoming-sixth Jurassic Park movie.
Woodley also has three movies in the works, Kravitz will star in Viena and the Fantomes on the silver screen and High Fidelity on the small screen, and Streep has three film projects ongoing, including Little Women with Dern.
At the same time, Bloys reassured fans they will be satisfied with the ending of this season: ‘Season two was a chance for everyone involved to end [the franchise] in a way that feels satisfying.’
