Olivia Jade, 19, and Bella, 20, Gianulli are ‘laying low’ while mom Lori Loughlin faces jail time

While their parents are embroiled in the college admissions scandal, Lori Loughlin’s daughters are keeping a low profile.

Olivia Jade, 19, and Bella Gianulli, 20, have curtailed their partying ways in favor of low-key hangouts at home while their mom and dad are facing jail time for their alleged involvement in Operation Varsity Blues.

According to a source close to the girls, they’re opting to ‘spend a lot of time with friends’ as the scandal blows over, People Magazine reported.

‘Olivia and Bella continue to spend a lot of time with friends. They visit people’s houses, or have friends over. They prefer this to going out,’ the insider told the outlet.

It’s back to school time for most college students, however the girls no longer attend USC – the university where their parents allegedly shelled out $500K in bribes to ensure they were accepted.

‘Some of their friends are heading back to school, but some aren’t,’ the source said. ‘Olivia still plans to focus on a comeback when the time is right. She just needs to lay low until the trial is over.’

Lori and her designer husband Mossimo Gianulli are looking down the barrel at a potentially hefty prison sentence stemming from charges in the country-wide college admissions scandal.

‘Lori and her family are doing as well as they can while waiting for the trial to begin,’ the source added.

‘They have been trying to enjoy the summer, but the focus is definitely on the court case. Especially for Lori and Mossimo, their legal strategy is a big focus. It’s all moving very slowly, which is stressful for them both.’

As a result of the scandal, the girls were reportedly at odds with their parents for a brief period but later reconciled.

Sources said Olivia Jade was specifically furious with them for a while since the fallout lost her lucrative collaborations and partnership deals and her YouTube career took a hit.

Earlier this year the couple rejected a plea offer from federal prosecutors after they were indicted along with dozens of prominent parents, athletic coaches and others charged in a sweeping bribery scam that has embroiled elite schools.

The pair were then subsequently charged with more serious crimes in a superseding indictment.

Lori has reportedly been ‘obsessing over every detail of’ her case ahead of an upcoming court date in the matter.

A source previously told People that the 55-year-old is ‘not working’ and ‘not doing anything’ except ‘reading the files again and again.’

The Full House star appears to have kept positive about her future, however, as insiders have said multiple times that Lori and her husband think they will get off without jailtime.

‘They believe they’ll be exonerated,’ a source told Us earlier this summer.

They added that the couple ‘won’t even talk about taking any type of plea.’

A handful of parents entered or planned to enter guilty pleas to the initial charges in the scandal, including actress Felicity Huffman.

Those who did not plead or plan to plea guilty were later indicted the additional superseding charges.

Sentencing for Felicity Huffman is scheduled for September and prosecutors are requesting four months in prison.

The Desperate Housewives star is ‘prepared to serve the four months behind bars if that’s what she’s ordered to do,’ a source told Us Weekly in June.

However, the 56-year-old is ‘hopeful that she’s a suitable candidate for a halfway house instead of prison confinement.’
