‘Jobs will always come and go but family comes first’: Pregnant Winners & Losers star Melanie Vallejo says she will ‘become big at age 50’ after putting acting career on hold to become a ‘breeder’

Melanie Vallejo and her husband Matt left Australia for New Zealand three years ago, to raise their son.

And actress Melanie, best known for her role on Winners & Losers, says she would not have it any other way. 

The pregnant 39-year-old told The Daily Telegraph: ‘I remember calling my agent [when I fell pregnant] and she was the first one to say ”jobs will always come and go but family comes first.”

Melanie is 30 weeks pregnant with her second child, a girl, and has a young son, Sonny, three. 

She says she is inspired by actress Jacki Weaver, who worked steadily before  becoming a Hollywood star in her 60s.  

‘But look at Jacki Weaver, I’ll become big when I’m 50 something. I feel less pressure now in this climate – your career is not dead after you’re 30 anymore,’ she added.

The star appeared on The Morning Show on Wednesday and discussed her new pregnancy. 

‘There’s more of me to see. I’m thirty weeks,’ she told the hosts Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur while she tenderly placed her hand on her stomach.

Melanie revealed she’s been handling her pregnancy quite well, and not being ‘an annoying pregnant women’.
