Rove McManus on juggling fatherhood and work commitments

‘You can’t be as selfish with your time’: Rove McManus talks about juggling fatherhood and work commitments ahead of the premiere of his comeback show Saturday Night Rove

Rove McManus is known for being notoriously private about his family life, and rarely speaks about his wife Tasma Walton and their five-year-old daughter Ruby.

But Wednesday, the 45-year-old spoke to the Herald Sun about how he juggles fatherhood with his various work commitments.

Ahead of the premiere of his comeback show Saturday Night Rove, the comedian admitted that ‘working late’ again was starting to ‘impact’ his family life.

‘Putting this show together is the first time I have been full-time on anything [since] my daughter [was born] so you can’t be as selfish with your time,’ he said.

Rove added: ‘It’s not just like calling your partner to say, “I’m going to be home late, I might skip dinner”. It’s a lot more impacting than that now.’

The funnyman added that he still drops his daughter off at school in the mornings and tries to be as ‘present’ as possible despite his workload.
