The Australian athlete is not the first sports star to have owned the property, with AFL player Matthew Lloyd previously living in the lavish residence.

The luxurious house has five bedrooms and three bathrooms, a large pool and spa, an impressive basement theatre room, a bar, and an underground garage with space for four cars.

When Shane purchased the property last year, Jonathan Dixon of JP Dixon agency told the Herald Sun  he had wanted to downsize from his $20 million mansion because it ‘was too big’ and he was regularly out of the country for work and travel.

‘It’s got underground garaging, it’s in a top spot and its pool (was another drawcard). It’s everything he needs but on a smaller scale, which is ideal for him, so he can shut it up and walk away, travel.

‘The other one was pretty big and a lot of work.’

The pad had expansive grounds, which included a sparking pool, sprawling tennis courts and even a private gym.
