Today Extra hosts Sonia Kruger pleaded with the director to ‘cut’ and go to commercial during a dangerous motorbike stunt on the Today Show.

On Friday, Sonia and her co-host Richard ‘Dickie’ Wilkins were forced to stand on the landing of a stunt jump ramp while two Crusty Demons motorbike riders back flipped over them.

Moments before the riders attempted a second jump, Sonia was seen yelling ‘not again?’ before motioning to cameras as if she were using a pair of scissors.

The stunt consisted of a pair of Crusty Demons speeding across two large jump ramps, set 23-metres apart, zooming over Sonia and Dickie – while doing backflips.

Sonia, 53 appeared genuinely concerned as she stood on the ramp.

But she was revealed to be the most composed of the pair when the camera panned down.

Richard 65, was seen laying prone on the ramp, clutching onto her ankle for dear life.

‘Think of the ratings!’ Sonia told the veteran entertainment journalist in an effort to console him.

Both seemed genuinely shocked when the Crusty Demon riders turned around to attempt the stunt a second time.

‘Don’t go back!?’ Richard yelled at them in confusion.

Seconds later, Sonia motioned to the director to cut filming – to no avail – before appearing to swear as the stuntmen took flight.

‘Okay, that time I did swear,’ she said, as the duo only just managed to clear her height.

Sonia was seen apologising to producers for ‘mild course language’ before getting down on her knees and pretending to pray.

‘We lived!’ Sonia added, with a wide smile of relief on her face.

‘Is it over?’ asked a rattled Dickie.

Friday’s stunt was part of an ongoing friendly challenge ‘war’ between Today Extra and Today hosts, in an apparent attempt to boost ratings.

Today hosts Georgie Gardner and Deborah Knight proudly claimed responsibility for arranging the jump.

‘Payback and then some’ Deborah told cameras before the stunt, referencing the duos loss in a line dancing ‘getup’ challenge earlier in the week.
