Spicks and Specks’ Myf Warhurst, 46, on coming to terms with never having children

‘I have to make peace with it’: Spicks and Specks’ Myf Warhurst, 46, on coming to terms with the fact she’ll never have children

At 46, Australian radio and television personality Myf Warhurst is coming to terms with the fact she may never have children.

Assuming one day she’d have children and settle down, the Spicks And Specks star claims it’s been a strange realisation that it may not be in her future.

‘I’m like so many people: things happen or don’t happen at the right time. You might have wanted them [children], but it didn’t happen,’ Myf told Australian Women’s Weekly on Monday.

‘I think you have to deal with it. You have to make peace with that. But also I was never overly maternal… It’s never been an overriding thing,’ she added.

Myf, who has co-hosted the Australian Eurovision coverage for the past two years, added that she doesn’t feel heartbroken by the possibility of ‘missing out’.

‘I don’t feel like I’m lacking, even though probably some people would say you are. I never had dreams of a marriage or wedding. So how kids fitted in with, I really hadn’t imagined.’

Myf is currently in a long-distance relationship with a Newcastle man named Daniel – who she met while he was working at a Melbourne pub.

Dating for two years, the media star claimed the couple usually only see each other once a month.

‘I probably would have felt a bit sad a few years ago if I’d known I’d be living alone, but now I’m like “I’m living my best live!”‘ she said.

The journalist was last linked to long-term partner and The Drones drummer Mike Noga in 2012.

Myf’s big break was as a regular on ABC-TV’s hit music quiz Spicks and Specks between 2005 and 2018.

She’s also worked on Australian radio and appears occasionally on Channel 10’s The Project.
