The first footage for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker was shared with attendees at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, on Saturday.
And on Monday the rest of the world got a look at the scenes, which revealed plenty.
Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, is seen wielding a red double light saber as she fights her nemesis Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver. And at the end of the clip, Darth Vader’s heavy breathing can be heard, confirming that he does indeed have a role in this last Skywalker movie, which comes out in December.

The clip begins with old footage from the franchise.
Luke, Leia, and Han are also seen from Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977.
And there is additional footage from the other two movies, The Empire Strikes Back and The Return Of The Jedi as dramatic music plays in the background.

Fans are reminded this is a story of a generation.
Then scene from the last two films, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, are shown,
And it is heard in voiceover that 1,000 generations of knowledge has been given to Rey but this is really her fight.
Then the new footage is seen.

Cut to Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren fighting on a downed ship in the middle of an ocean as waves crash around them.
The biggest reveal occurred at the end with Rey wearing a dark hood as she wielded a double-sided lightsaber, the first time the weapon has been seen.
Leia can also be seen clearly in old footage that is being recycled from Force Awakens.
Director J.J. Abrams earlier confirmed at the Expo that the late Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia, will appear in the film, something he has said many times before.
‘The character of Leia is really, in a way, the heart of this story,’ he said. ‘We realized we could not possibly tell the end of these nine films without Leia.
‘We realized that we had footage from Episode VII, and we could use it in a new way,’ he shared.
Carrie died of a heart attack on December 27, 2016, four days after a medical emergency on a flight from London to Los Angeles.
Daisy and several other cast members were at the event to debut the new content.
There is also a first look at Keri Russell’s mysterious character.
The costume featured a helmet and a red suit. Keri told the audience: ‘She’s very cool and a little bit shady. She’s kind of a criminal, and an old friend of Poe’s,’ played by Oscar Isaac.
The cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o and Domhnall Gleeson along with franchise newcomer Richard E. Grant.
Original Star Wars actors including Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) will return.
Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
