The Bachelorette’s Jed Wyatt ‘had a GIRLFRIEND when he started filming series’

He confessed to Bachelorette Hannah Brown on last week’s episode that he had signed up for the show on the premise that it’d be a great platform for his music career.

And the plot thickened on Tuesday, with Jed Wyatt’s, 25, ex, Hayley Stevens, claiming to People that they were still in a relationship the night before he left for the show, before he ghosted her.

According to the 27-year-old country music singer, Jed assured her the show was ‘just an obstacle’ in their relationship of four months.

‘He wanted a platform. He kept telling me, “I don’t want my dad to have to help me pay rent anymore”.’

Hayley added that his goal was to be in the top five remaining love seekers, as to him, that would make him ‘a major player’ and the journey ‘beneficial’.

The pair reportedly began dating in October before taking a trip to the Bahamas in February, after he had been confirmed as a participant on the show, where Jed said ‘I love you’ for the first time.

She called it ‘the worst day’ when she made the mistake of watching the show and seeing ‘her boyfriend’ kissing Hannah on one of their dates.

While the outcome of the show is still unknown, with Jed still in the show, Hayley confessed when he did arrive home, he didn’t call as promised.

The pair had an awkward run in at a music festival last month, and never spoke again – safe to say the past relationship is officially over.

It comes after Jed confessed to Hannah Brown last week that when he applied for the show, it wasn’t necessarily for the right reasons.

‘When I signed up for the show, I was so clueless,’ he said on a one-on-one date.

‘I was open to the idea because I love love, I do, I love the idea of it. But my first thought was this is like a huge platform, and I just want you to know the truth.’

Jed continued:  ‘So I came in with that mindset, but every moment that we’ve had has taken that away and shown me that now more than anything I want to be with you.’
