The X Factor’s Emma Chawner shows off her impressive 12 STONE weight loss

Emma Chawner has showed off her incredible 12 stone weight loss transformation in a new photoshoot earlier this week.

The aspiring singer, 29 – who was previously 28 stone when she appeared on The X Factor in 2007 – looked sensational in a new photoshoot for Closer Magazine

Speaking to the publication, Emma also discussed being targeted by cruel trolls for her weight while appearing on the popular singing competition

During her second appearance on the ITV talent show in 2009, Emma was slammed as ‘a flump’ by show boss, Simon Cowell and revealed that while she had previously received criticism for her weight, the show made it worse. 

Emma revealed: ‘Being on The X Factor made it worse as we were high profile. People told us to go kill ourselves, that we were ugly and fat, and they shouted “Teletubbies” at us.’

The aspiring singer also discussed how her diabetes diagnosis two years ago forced her to shed the pounds.

 ‘It was the trigger I needed to lose weight, and I know that I’ll keep it off this time because I have to for my health. I’ve done it slowly and in a way that I know I can stick to,’ she continued.

And one year later the overweight star appeared on appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s Big Fat Challenge alongside her parents Philip, 63, and Audrey, 67 and her sister Sam, 31. 

A year after her sting on The X Factor, the overweight star appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s Big Fat Challenge alongside her parents Philip, 63, and Audrey, 67 and her sister Sam, 31.

But now Emma insists she has turned her life around, detailing how she has given up cakes, crisps, biscuits, bread, pasta and potatoes in favour of healthier foods such as sushi, salads and vegetables.

She is now a healthy 12st 5lbs and hopes to lose another 3st to reach her goal of becoming a size 12.

‘I don’t get breathless when I walk anymore. I haven’t reversed the diabetes yet, but I’m hoping that I’m able to,’ she explained. 

Although, while Emma says she would ‘love for Simon to see her now’ her dreams of becoming a singer seem to be far behind her as she says that once she reaches her goal weight she might try plus size modelling.

‘I would love to start modelling once I’m at my target weight, and I know I’ll get there. I love my new lifestyle. I feel that I can  do anything now and I’m so proud of myself,’ she said.

However, Emma also opened up about her hope for her sister Sam, 31, to follow in her footsteps and shed some weight, as she is currently at her heaviest, weighing 30 stone.  

She explained: ‘I’m desperate for her to do as well as I have. If I can do it, anyone can.’
