Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth reminisce on Luke Perry

Jennie Garth revealed that she had once been asked to join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Monday night—while Tori Spelling said she had never been asked, contrary to recent press reports.

As the women geared up for BH90210, the reboot of their old series, premiering August 7 on FOX, they answered viewer questions and explored their memories of Beverly Hills 90210, which aired from 1990 to 2000.

When a caller asked Tori, 46, if she was considering doing The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the actress played coy, while both actresses also reminisced about their late 90210 co-star Luke Perry.

‘I don’t know—Andy’s never asked me,’ she demurred, saying she was slightly offended at having never been asked.

‘I’m the biggest fan, and I grew up in Beverly Hills,’ she pointed out, adding that she was friends with cast members Denise Richards, Lisa Rinna and Kyle Richards.

‘Wow, there you go,’ Andy, 51, said, appearing to think it over, as Jennie, 47, confirmed that she had been asked two years ago.

But when asked what their favorite Luke Perry memory was, they had a harder time being succinct.

‘I have so many,’ Tori said of Luke. Kelly couldn’t name just one.

The actor was meant to be part of their new show, in some way, before he passed away in March of a massive ischemic stroke.

He had been a part of their early meetings, even making conference calls from the Vancouver set of Riverdale to do so.

His death will be dealt with on the show.

In another revealing moment, they were asked how they felt about Shannen Doherty being back in the BH90210 cast.

‘Good!’ Tori said. ‘She’s such an integral part of the show and the history of 90210.’

‘It wouldn’t be the same without her,’ Jennie said.

Andy noted that Tori often had to mediate fights between Jennie and Shannen.

‘She was the peacekeeper, that is true, ’cause she loved both of us,’ Jennie testified. ‘We were young, and so stupid.’

Asked what they fought about she said: ‘I can only remember one incident and that was when we took it outside.’

‘It actually got physical?’ Andy queried.

‘Yeah, I’m a Midwestern girl, and I spent some time in Glendale, Arizona, so that makes you tough,’ Jennie explained, noting that they were physically held back by their male friends.

‘I stayed in my dressing room shaking when it was happening,’ Tori noted.

Jennie admitted that the fight had started because Shannen pulled her skirt up.

‘I didn’t care for that,’ she said. ‘Like, who does that?’

‘I’m pretty sure I got in her face about that. But we’re both just very strong Aries women, we don’t back down, no matter what.’

As the show opened, they said that they wanted to be charter guests on Below Deck: Mediterranean, but each of them wanted to go with a different boat captain.

Tori said that would be like a Love Boat episode.

‘Were you on The Love Boat?’ Andy asked. ‘I was,’ she replied.

‘That was your dad’s show,’ Andy pointed out, referring to late mega-producer Aaron Spelling.

Tori said her favorite show her dad created was Dynasty.

On a game called ‘I Dream of Jennie,’ Andy asked Jennie to pick out numbers that corresponded with viewers’ ‘burning’ questions about 90210.

The first one: ‘Which of your 90210 co-stars had the biggest paycheck back in the day?’

‘I think it would be Jason,’ Jennie said.

Andy realized he had asked the wrong question. He restated it.

‘Which of your co-stars got the most ass with fans back in the day?’

‘Jason,’ she said, laughing.

Next up: ‘Name one Kelly Taylor storyline that you disliked the most.’

‘Ooh, there were a lot,’ she said, finally admitting it was one in which she had been burned in a fire.

‘There have been so many hook-ups between your 90210 co-stars, but name a duo the public would be surprised to know about?’ Andy asked.

The last one: ‘Which of your 90210 co-stars had the worst temper tantrums on set?’ he wondered.

Andy thought it was Shannen Doherty, but Jennie stayed mum.

‘I don’t know. Could have been her, or me, or…’

Moving on, Andy played a game he called ‘Is! This! Your Kid!?’ with Tori, asking her to remember whether a fragment of a snapshot shown was from a photo one of her five children.

She got nearly many of them wrong.

She incorrectly identified Alana Thompson’s hand—aka that of reality-TV star Honey Boo Boo—as her own.

She also thought a picture of a jacket was of one worn by her kid, but it was that of Kourtney Kardashian’s daughter, Penelope.

Another game, ‘Glory Tori Hole’ had her identifying photos of items shown through a hole.

Andy showed her a close-up of a donut hole.

‘Is it me after number five?’ she asked, as the audience laughed.

In a final game, ‘90210 No You Didn’t,’ Andy asked the women to drink if they had done the thing he asked.

They said that they had never watched The CW reboot of their show, but that they had been on a few episodes.

They both said remembered Christina Aguilera guest-starring on the show, and imitated her singing Genie in a Bottle.

When asked what she thought about Tori selling her invite to Jason Priestley’s wedding a few years ago, Jennie said she didn’t think anything of it, but that they were planning to use that as a plot point in the show.

And when Andy asked her if she thought her show Tru Tori helped or hurt’ her relationship with husband Dean McDermott,Tori said: ‘I felt like at the time it was the right thing to do, but not Season Two.’
